Mr Ridyard is an Expert Witness Institute and Bond Solon trained medical expert.
He undertakes a full medico-legal practice instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence cases. He is a full member and Editorial Board member of the Expert Witness Institute and also a 1st tier Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
Mr Ridyard sits on the panel of experts of Ophthalmology for the General Medical Council and have been involved in numerous fitness to practice cases. In addition he is also an expert witness for the Medical Defence Union. In recognition of his work in the medicolegal field he was the recipient of the Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology Services from the Federation of Forensic and Expert Witnesses in 2024 and has also achieved the Expert Witness certification from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
